Congratulations to Judge Joe Whitfield, an alumnus who recently celebrated his first year on the 18th Judicial District Court in Aurora, Colorado! Judge Whitfield graduated from WashULaw with a JD degree and LLM degree in Intellectual Property Law in 2010. As a law student, he was a member of the Mock Trial Team, a Public Interest Law Fellow in South Africa, and interned for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri. Prior to his appointment to the bench, he held a variety of leadership positions, including with the Sam Cary Bar Association, the National Black Prosecutors Association, and the NAACP – Aurora, Colorado Branch.
