Jo Ellen Dardick Lewis
Professor of Practice
Jo Ellen Dardick Lewis, Professor of Practice, helped develop and teaches in the Legal Practice program, the legal analysis and writing curriculum for first-year JD students. She currently teaches Legal Practice I, focusing on objective legal analysis and communication, and Legal Practice II, focusing on persuasive legal analysis and communication. Professor Lewis works closely with law students on all aspects of professional writing to enhance students’ employment and clerkship opportunities.
She developed and taught the inaugural online writing course for the LLM in U.S. Law program through our sophisticated platform, @WashULaw, to international law students and lawyers. Professor Lewis has extensive experience teaching courses and presenting workshops on legal writing in law schools in Japan, China, Korea, and Portugal. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Shanghai, China at Fudan University Law School.
In addition to teaching, on a pro-bono basis, Professor Lewis assists Veterans in drafting professional resumes and related materials as they transition from the military to civilian life.
