Henry C. Eickelberg

Professor Eickelberg is a seasoned corporate executive with extensive experience in law, human resources, management, and shared services operations. He served as the Vice President of Human Resources and Shared Services of a Fortune 100 company, where he was responsible for overseeing the corporation’s shared services function. In this role, he oversaw the company’s shared services organization, which accounted for and allocated over $10 billion in expenditures, including payroll and other related expenses. Prof. Eickelberg also serves as a senior fellow for the HR Policy Association, an organization that represents chief human resource officers for the world’s largest corporations.

Prof. Eickelberg has a proven track record as an ERISA fiduciary. In 2016, President Obama appointed Prof. Eickelberg to the Advisory Committee for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC). The PBGC insures defined benefit retirement plans sponsored by private employees and manages an approximately $130 billion investment portfolio. In 2019, President Trump appointed Prof. Eickelberg as Chair of the Advisory Committee. In addition, Prof. Eickelberg has served as trustee and co-chair of a $13 billion multiemployer pension and 401(k) fund. He currently serves as a director and trustee for the American Bar Association Retirement Funds and Concordia Plan Services, which manage retirement, life, and disability programs for employees of various organizations.

Prof. Eickelberg is also a highly respected educator. He has been an adjunct professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center since 2005, where he lectures on corporate mergers and acquisitions, including employee benefits, executive compensation, and other benefit matters, as well as employee and labor relations. In 2015, Prof. Eickelberg was awarded Georgetown’s prestigious Charles Fahy Award for Distinguished Adjunct Professor. In 2019, he joined the adjunct law faculty of Washington University in St. Louis, where he teaches a graduate-level tax class on the taxation of employee benefit programs.

With his extensive experience and expertise, Prof. Eickelberg is widely regarded as a thought leader in the fields of law, human resources, and management. He is a Certified Public Accountant with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Personnel Management from DePaul University, a Juris Doctor degree with distinction from John Marshall Law School, and an LL.M. from the same institution. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois, the District of Columbia, and Florida.
