“Little Assistance,” a science fiction short story written by Stephen Harrison, AB ’09, JD ’13, was recently published by Slate. In “Little Assistance,” Eugene Steeples, the first judge on the moon, calls up AI reconstructions of past judges to help him solve a difficult case.
Harrison’s story is part of Future Tense Fiction, a monthly series of short stories from Future Tense and Arizona State University’s Center for Science and the Imagination about how technology and science will change lives.
His forthcoming novel “The Editors” portrays the information battles on a fictional internet encyclopedia. In addition to writing fiction, Harrison is a journalist and lawyer.
