Lexie Salamone is the Nimick Forbesway Foundation Legal Fellow in the Immigration Law Clinic, which represents clients in immigration matters such as naturalization, adjustment of status, family-reunification, obtaining employment benefits, deportation defense, and applications for asylum.
Lexie is driven by the pursuit of migration justice, especially for the low-income immigrants in her St. Louis community who are at risk of deportation. She is passionate about immigration law, particularly removal defense and humanitarian pathways.
Prior to joining the Immigration Law Clinic, Lexie graduated from St. Louis University School of Law with a concentration in International Comparative Law. She developed her immigration lawyering skills by working as a Law Clerk within the immigration practice at Khazaeli Wyrsch, regularly volunteering at local Pro Se Asylum Clinics, interning with both St. Francis Community Services’ Catholic Legal Assistance Ministry (CLAM) and the Department of Homeland Security’s Chicago Office of the Principal Legal Advisor (OPLA), and participating in SLU Law’s Removal Defense Course. Lexie speaks English and Spanish, and she is learning Italian and Slovak.
