Yotam Kaplan

Visiting Professor of Law

Frieda & Solomon Rosenzweig Professor of Law, HUJI Law School. Prof. Kaplan’s research touches on all areas of private law, with a focus on remedies and the law of unjust enrichment. His primary research project, supported by an ERC grant (ERC, UEPP, 101077050) studies the application of unjust enrichment law to broad social problems such as the climate crisis, the opioid epidemic, and the challenges associated with the development of new AI technologies.
In addition to his ERC grant, Prof. Kaplan is the recipient of multiple awards and research grants, including ISF and GIF grants, the Junior Scholar Cheshin Award for Academic Excellence in the Field of Law, the Addison-Brown Writing Prize (Harvard Law School), the Polonsky Prize for Best Tort Law Article (TAU), and an Outstanding Lecturer Award (BIU). His work appears in leading journals such as the Cornell Law Review, Georgetown Law Journal, Northwestern Law Review, Vanderbilt Law Review, and the Journal of Legal Studies, among others. Before joining academia, he practiced law in a leading commercial firm and received his doctoral degree from Harvard Law School.
