The Women of Color Law Society and the First Generation Law Society are cosponsoring an international students-focused speaker event. The speaker will be Yvette Chen, a WashU Law alum and associate at Fenwick. Yvette was an international student while she was in law school, and can speak to the process of employment sponsorship, navigating the process of doing applications and job hunting, and how that process differs for an international student, as well as which firms are sponsor-friendly, and her own firm. Yvette will also speak to what it looks like when the employer can help with sponsorship vs. navigating that process independently. FGLS understands that international students have a fundamentally different application process than non-international students, and would like to use this event so that someone who has gone through the process themselves can speak to their own experience and offer advice.
