WashU Law Brings Together Scholars and Advocates for Know Your Rights Symposium

On Wednesday, September 17, the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and the Latin American Law Student Association (LALSA) hosted WashU Law’s Know Your Rights Symposium. The event brought together students, scholars, practitioners, and community advocates to explore immigration law, due process, and the broader implications of these issues in today’s political climate.

The panel featured WashU Law Professors Sheldon Evans and Greg Magarian, along with MICA Project staff attorney Remi Gavlick. Together, they led critical conversations on legal access, civil rights, and the systemic inequities that continue to shape the experiences of immigrant communities.

The American Constitution Society (ACS) chapter at WashU Law also joined as a sponsor, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in advancing dialogue on pressing legal and social challenges.
