Jonathan Smith
Professor of Practice; Director of the Entrepreneurship Clinic
Jonathan W. Smith is an Associate Professor of Practice and Director of the Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property Clinic. Jonathan joined the law school after serving as Deputy City Attorney for Redwood City, California, where he handled transactional, land use, and real estate matters. He previously advised start-up companies on venture capital financings, entity formation, and corporate governance matters as part of the corporate group at Fenwick & West LLP. While at Fenwick, he also represented private companies in initial public offerings and M&A transactions. Before practicing law, Jonathan taught English at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
