James Reeves

Jim Reeves has been teaching at Washington University Law School in the Negotiation and Dispute Resolution Program since 2005. He also works closely with students in the International and Graduate Studies Program as a professor and advisor for international students. He has served as a co-coach for Washington University’s ABA Representation in Mediation Team and sits on dissertation committees for JSD candidates. In other professional activities, Jim

has been a mediator and facilitator for 30 years. His dispute resolution experience includes mediation of business and legal disputes involving general tort liability, medical malpractice, products liability, employment and workplace disputes, education, condemnation, family business issues, partnership disputes, and general business and commercial disputes. Jim also has expertise convening multi-party processes to resolve legal, organizational, community, and public policy disputes. Jim was a litigation attorney for over 19 years and has operated his own firm providing mediation, facilitation, and conflict management services to individuals, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations. He has also held executive management positions in corporate and small business environments.

In other teaching activities, Jim has been on the adjunct faculty at St. Louis University School of Law teaching courses in pre-trial litigation and negotiation; Visiting Professor at Fontbonne University in the English and Communications Department teaching Conflict Communication; and Guest Lecturer in the Webster University Leadership in Science Program teaching workplace conflict management.
