Laurel Tinsley manages MBS Urban Initiatives CDE, the firm’s New Market Tax Credit division. With extensive experience in tax credits (as both a lawyer and as a developer/investor), Ms. Tinsley provides analysis of available federal, state and local tax credits and incentives and structures complex transactions involving, among others, new markets tax credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits, low-income housing tax credits, renewable energy tax credits, Brownfield tax credits and affordable housing assistance program tax credits. As Deputy General Counsel of Development, Laurel provides strategic legal advice, coordinates outside counsel and influences policies and procedures. She received a JD and an LLM in Tax from Washington University.
