Related clinics and/or externships are marked with an asterisk and grouped separately at the end of the list. The Law School offers the listed courses regularly, but some are not available every year. For guidance about which courses might best fit your particular needs, please consult the faculty members listed below.
The Law School offers the following clinic related to intellectual property, technology, and health law: the Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property Clinic.
JD students interested in this area of law may go beyond the JD program and pursue an LLM degree in Intellectual Property and Technology Law.
The Law School offers students interested in intellectual property, technology, and health law a range of extra- and co-curricular opportunities including the Intellectual Property Law Society and the Sports and Entertainment Law Society – both of which host guest speakers and provide networking opportunities with practicing IP lawyers and experts in the field. Students can also compete in the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition, sponsored by the International Trademark Association, and the Giles Sutherland Rich Moot Court Competition, sponsored by the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Students are also encouraged to get involved in related activities at the University such as the Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In addition, students may participate in the CEL Entrepreneurial Consulting Team (CELect). CELect is a for-credit opportunity that allows students from across the University to work on research-oriented management consulting projects for high-growth St. Louis area startups.
