For fall and spring exchange programs through WashU Law, you’ll be charged regular School of Law tuition and your student loans will be processed by our financial aid office. Federal Direct Loans are also available to cover summer study abroad programs sponsored by other law schools.

Yes, you may study abroad on an ad hoc basis at foreign law schools with which WashU Law does not have an exchange agreement. These programs require approval by Michael Koby, Associate Dean for International & Graduate Programs, and you’ll need to complete additional forms including a summer school application for financial aid.

Students enrolled in fall/spring study abroad or externship programs may petition to increase their cost of attendance (COA) by a maximum of $3,000 ($1,500 per semester). Students interested in these programs should plan accordingly.
