Your application questions answered.

Some applicants may hear back quicker than others. The majority of admissions decisions will start going out in January.

We do not require any letters of recommendation to apply to WashU Law. We recommend submitting two and you can submit up to four.

We look for authenticity in a personal statement. We want to hear your genuine voice and understand who you are beyond your GPA and test scores. A strong statement should clearly explain why you want to go to law school, including the experiences or goals that motivated your decision. It should also show why you’ll succeed as a law student, highlighting qualities like critical thinking, resilience, or a strong work ethic through specific examples from your life.

Yes, WashU Law accepts the LSAT, GRE, or JD-Next.

There is no deadline to apply Early Decision.

You should apply as early as possible—ideally by December—but keep in mind that many admission offers are still made after that point.

We begin accepting applications on September 1.
