WashU Law believes in sharing transparent information about educational costs to help you plan your investment in legal education.

Annual Tuition $72,792

for all full-time residential law programs.


Required Fees:

  • University Health & Wellness Fee: $672 (mandatory)
  • Student Bar Association Fee: $120 (all students)*
  • Orientation Fee: $100

Full-time enrollment (9 or more credit hours per semester), tuition and fees are subject to change each year.

*International students incur an additional $5 health insurance fee per semester

Federal Student Aid

Access funding for your legal education.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for federal loans and determine your eligibility for need-based assistance. It takes approximately ten days for the school to receive your FAFSA report. Students are responsible for completing all necessary documents and meeting required deadlines.

FAQs

Your questions answered.

Students considering withdrawal should consult with Associate Dean Elizabeth Walsh. Refunds are based on when you provide written notification: 100% within the first week, 80% within the second week, 60% within the third or fourth week, and 40% after the fourth week through the eighth week. No refunds after eight weeks except for health-related withdrawals certified by Student Health Services.

All WashU students are required to carry health insurance. Full-time graduate students on the Danforth Campus are automatically enrolled in (and billed for) the basic student health insurance plan unless proof of comparable coverage is provided. (International students are not eligible to waive out of the insurance plan. International students incur an additional $5 health insurance fee per semester) For details about available plans or waiving options, visit the Student Health Center.
