Rettner Gallery, Laboratory Sciences Building and Graham Chapel
The Class of 1969 will don cap and gown for this momentous ceremony led by Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton. Proceed as a class from Rettner Gallery into Graham Chapel, participate in a beautiful ceremony, and receive a keepsake 50th Reunion medallion. Family members are welcome to join in this special not-to-be-missed event for your 50th Reunion. Business casual attire is suggested and advanced registration is required.

Little Italy Neighborhood Tour $15
1:00–3:45 p.m.
The Hill | Round-trip transportation from campus will be provided.

A guided two-hour tour of St. Louis’ own “Little Italy,” The Hill, home to twenty-eight restaurants and delis plus the childhood homes of Baseball Hall of Famers Yogi Berra and Joe Garagiola. The tour will include a ravioli–making demonstration at Mama Toscano’s, a visit to Yogi Berra’s childhood home, bocce ball lessons, and a stop at St. Ambrose Church. The tour will allow time for shopping at local gift shops, grocery stores, bakeries, and more.

WashU Engage St. Louis: Understanding What We See with Bob Hansman

Join us to learn about St. Louis beyond the tourist hot spots. Bob Hansman, professor of architecture and Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement faculty fellow, will lead his highly regarded tour exploring the racial, sociocultural, and political context of St. Louis city and county. Visit a number of significant areas in the St. Louis region, where Professor Hansman will describe the present and explain the past, gradually drawing a picture of the region as a whole, a city divided against itself, a city struggling to deal with its history and continuation of racial injustice.

Show Me Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) invites you to explore their peer-learning courses for senior adults. This event features an orientation presentation followed by three sample classes and is open to individuals 50 years old and older. Refreshments will be served.

John M. Olin Library Open House
2:30–4:00 p.m. | John M. Olin Library

Visit the transformed Olin Library and see some of the university’s special collections, including the Declarations of Independence “Southwide Broadside,” a truly rare piece of history. Learn about the recently unveiled Newman Exploration Center and stop by the expanded Whisper’s Café. Libraries staff will be stationed throughout the building to answer questions and share additional information related to our unique acquisitions.

Gateway Arch National Park

Gateway Arch National Park has been transformed since your law school days! Visit the new museum, which features 201 years of history in six themed exhibit areas, while enjoying cocktails and gourmet food stations with your classmates. Of course, no visit to the Arch is complete without a journey to the top! Don’t miss your opportunity to experience this breathtaking monument again and appreciate the best view in St. Louis. Roundtrip transportation from campus will be provided.

Learn some of the university’s rich history and take a short walking tour highlighting a few of the greatest treasures on campus.

Enjoy a lovely luncheon hosted by Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton in beautiful Crowder Courtyard in Anheuser-Busch Hall. During his final luncheon as chancellor, Wrighton will provide an exclusive university updated and toast all Reunion celebrants and emeritus alumni. The musical revue, a collaboration between the Performing Arts and Music Departments, will be immediately following the luncheon, so be sure to stick around – you won’t want to miss it! You will be entertained by students who will be singing famous and entertaining songs. Business casual attire is suggested.

Soldier, Sailor, Flyer, Too: Veterans Study at Washington U.

Hear about the experiences of WU veterans from 1946 to the present and learn how the university has provided support and resources to these students.

Positive Psychology: The Science of Happiness with Lecturer in Psychological & Brain Sciences, Tim Bono, AB ’05, MA ’08, PhD ’11

What makes people happy and how can we increase happiness in our lives? Our society sends us many messages about what should make us happy (which many people buy into—literally). What does the research suggest about the validity of these messages? There may be a simple path to living the good life. This presentation will discuss the scientific study of happiness and strategies for life satisfaction based on research in positive psychology, the subject of one of the most popular courses at WashU!
