Educating for Democracy: Pitfalls and Possibilities

Universities today face a barrage of challenges in the face of increased societal polarization, growing distrust of institutions and expertise, and continued questions about the purpose, relevance, and cost of higher education. Is there still a role for universities to educate democratic citizens in the midst of these pressures? What are the challenges and opportunities from inside and outside of higher education?”
