Topic:

Artificial intelligence regulation is developing rapidly across major jurisdictions, but the European Union, United Kingdom, and United States are taking materially different approaches to governing the development and use of AI. This program will provide an overview of the evolving transatlantic regulatory landscape, beginning with the EU AI Act and its risk-based framework, key obligations, implementation timeline, and potential extraterritorial implications.

The panel will then examine the developing regulatory approaches in the United Kingdom and United States, including the extent to which those jurisdictions are relying on existing legal frameworks, sector-specific regulation, agency enforcement, and emerging legislation rather than a single comprehensive AI statute.
