Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Board Now Accepting Applications

Event Details

April 1 | 8:00 am April 10 | 5:00 pm

The faculty advisors for the Wiley Rutledge Moot Court (WRMC) competition are now accepting applications for students interested in serving on the WRMC board. The WRMC board is a student body that oversees and manages all aspects of the intramural WRMC competition that takes place at WashU Law in the fall semester. Responsibilities include logistical management, attorney outreach (to recruit and manage competition judges), and research and writing work in support of the competition problem, among other things. Participation on the board entitles students to one pass/fail academic credit.

The board will be busiest in and around the dates for the oral argument tournament, which will take place mostly on October 24 and during the ensuing week. Those interested in the board should be in Saint Louis and available during that timeframe.

Interested students should email an application to the WRMC faculty advisors, Profs. Jeff Drobish and Rich Finneran. Applications should succinctly describe the student’s relevant experience, qualifications, and interests. Offers to serve on the board will depend on the qualifications of the applicants and may be made on a rolling/ad-hoc basis, but applications received by Friday, April 10, will receive a decision by Monday, April 13, in advance of course registration. Please feel free to contact Profs. Finneran and/or Drobish with any questions. Note: Board members cannot compete in WRMC; therefore, board members do NOT need to enroll in the WRMC competition in order to serve on the board.
