Ali Burns is an Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Illinois. She primarily handles Violent Crime and Sex Crime prosecutions. She also serves as the Project Safe Childhood coordinator and Intern coordinator for the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Professor Burns began her career as a state prosecutor in the Saint Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office in 2014.
Professor Burns graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2014 with concentrations in Criminal and International Law. She was a member of Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court team and SLU Law’s National ABA Moot Court team. Professor Burns earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Legal Studies from Webster University in 2011. She currently coaches Nerinx Hall High School’s Mock Trial Team.
