Primary in-house attorney at Mattel, Inc. supporting global product regulatory and general regulatory, global supply chain, and sales transactions in AsiaPac and the Americas (including the US). In addition to being the responsible attorney for product regulatory, other specific regulatory areas of responsibility include anti-competition/antitrust, anti-corruption (FCPA, UK Bribery Act), anti-money laundering, anti-boycott, trade sanctions and export controls. Specific transactional areas of responsibility include raw materials, component parts and finished goods purchase agreements, all types of logistics agreements (3PL, trucking, rail, ocean and air freight agreements) and negotiating sales agreements with significant customers in the US.
Experience includes global product recalls and related government inquiries and ex-US private causes of action; representing Mattel before all types of regulators around the world; WTO engagement; establishing both bricks-and-mortar retail operations in China and an in house ecommerce platform in the US; and supporting international HR with RIFs, internal investigations and changes of management. I have regulatory, transactional and general legal support experience in more than 80 countries across EMEA, Asia Pacific and the Americas including the US, China, India, European Union, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. Licensed to practice law in New York and Texas and am registered in-house counsel with the State Bar of California.
