WashU Law students, faculty, and staff have 24/7 swipe card access to the library. Non-law students and members of the general public may access the library Monday through Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, except during planned closures such as exam periods and holidays as specified in the library hours FAQ below.

The Law Library occupies portions of all five floors in Anheuser-Busch Hall, with the exception of the third floor. The public entrance to the Law Library is located on the fourth floor. Students, faculty, and staff also have swipe card access from numerous other entry points.

WashU Law students, faculty, and staff have 24/7 swipe card access to the library.

The law library is open to non-law students and members of the public Monday through Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm unless otherwise noted due to planned/unplanned closures.

During exam periods the law library is restricted to law school students, faculty, and staff.

During winter break the law library is open Monday through Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

Over the summer, the law library is open Monday through Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

The library is closed on university holidays and follows alternate operations as designated by the university.

Study spaces are available throughout the library:

  • 1st Floor: study spaces scattered throughout
  • 2nd Floor: two large, quiet study spaces and spaces throughout
  • 4th Floor: Janite Lee Reading Room (Law Community only, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday)
  • 5th Floor: (Law Community only, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday)
