A long-time Immigration Law Clinic client’s application to renew employment authorization was approved and he was issued a five-year work permit. Now, all ILC clients with pending applications for asylum or a green card have five year work permits. Work permits allow clients to work lawfully, contribute to their local community, and obtain or renew a Missouri driver’s license. They also provide an important sense of security, stability, and belonging during uncertain times.
