I have been selected as a recipient of the National Bar Association’s 40 Under 40: Nation’s Best Advocates Award. The National Bar Association (NBA) is the nation’s oldest and largest national association of predominantly African American lawyers and judges. This prestigious award recognizes 40 outstanding attorneys under the age of 40 who exemplify a broad range of high achievement in the legal field, including in advocacy, innovation, vision, leadership, and overall legal and community involvement.

I’m a first-generation attorney who has spent my career at the intersection of investigations, enforcement, and public accountability, as a federal prosecutor, BigLaw counsel, and now as a senior enforcement attorney at the U.S. Department of Education. This award reminds me that the work matters. I am honored to be counted among this year’s honorees and grateful for the continued support of the communities and institutions – like Washington University School of Law – that have shaped my career.
