WashU Law Associate Professor Andrea Katz participated in a debate on presidential removal power at the 27th Annual Federalist Society Faculty Conference on January 7 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Professor Katz joined Professor Aditya Bamzai of the University of Virginia School of Law for a luncheon debate titled “Resolved: The President Has the Indefeasible Power of Removal.” The session examined the scope of the president’s authority and drew faculty attendees from across the country attending the AALS Annual Meeting.
Founded at the beginning of the 20th century by representatives from 35 law schools, AALS was established to strengthen American legal education and to prepare future lawyers, judges, and legal leaders with the expertise and integrity essential to the profession. For more than a century, the Annual Meeting has become a central gathering for legal scholars and educators from across the United States and beyond.
