Danielle D’Onfro, Treiman Professor of Law, has been elected to the American Law Institute (ALI), the nation’s leading independent organization dedicated to producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and improve the law.
Professor D’Onfro teaches Property, Advanced Private Law Seminar, and Corporations at WashU Law. Her research examines real property, debt, and emerging assets through the lenses of private law theory, history, and economics. Her scholarship has appeared or is forthcoming in leading journals, including the Harvard Law Review, Yale Law Journal, University of Pennsylvania Law Review, and Duke Law Journal. She is a two-time recipient of WashU Law’s David M. Becker Professor of the Year Award (2022, 2026).
Through their work with the institute, ALI members help guide the evolution of the law, engage with legal professionals and scholars, and contribute to both the legal profession and greater public good.
