Recently, WashU Law John S. Lehmann University Professor of Law Brian Tamanaha, delivered a Constitution Day lecture titled “Lessons Learned About the Rule of Law from the Trump Administration” at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
A leading voice in jurisprudence and law and society, Professor Tamanaha is the author of ten books and more than seventy-five articles. His work has earned multiple international awards, been translated into twelve languages, and is recognized for its lasting impact on legal theory and education.
Before joining academia, Professor Tamanaha clerked for a federal judge, served as a federal public defender in Hawaii, and held legal roles in Micronesia, including Assistant Attorney General for Yap State and Legal Counsel at the 1990 Micronesian Constitutional Convention. In 2013, he was voted the #1 Most Influential Legal Educator in a National Jurist poll for his critical examination of legal education.
WashU Law is pleased that Professor Tamanaha’s scholarship and contributions were recognized on a national scale through this Constitution Day lecture.
