WashU Law 2L Daryn Rockett has been selected as one of six law students nationwide to work on economic justice issues with the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) this summer. She will be based in NCLC’s Washington, D.C. office, marking the first time the organization has placed a legal intern there.
Daryn received the Greenfield Fellowship, endowed by WashU Law Professor Michael M. Greenfield, George Alexander Madill Professor of Contracts & Commercial Law Emeritus. The fellowship supports students committed to public interest law and expands opportunities for hands-on advocacy in consumer protection and economic justice.
“This group of law students deeply impressed us with their academic talent and their dedication to public interest law and economic justice, and we’re excited to welcome them to NCLC this summer,” said Richard Dubois, executive director of NCLC.
In addition to a paid summer internship, Daryn and the other selected students will receive complimentary registration to the Consumer Rights Litigation Conference, hosted by NCLC and the National Association of Consumer Advocates, to be held October 22–24 in Atlanta. As an NCLC legal intern, she will work closely with teams of attorneys on issues including litigation, non-mortgage lending, mortgage lending, bankruptcy, access to utilities, and racial justice and equal economic opportunities issues.
Congratulations to Daryn on this national recognition and meaningful opportunity to advance economic justice.
