WashU Law Welcomes Four New Faculty for Fall 2024

Join us in welcoming four new faculty members to WashU Law for the 2024-2025 academic year. These four scholars represent excellence in their respective fields and are poised to make significant impacts in and out of the classroom. 

Christine Klein, Visiting Professor

Professor Klein is a Professor of Law Emerita at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she was a faculty member for over 20 years. Her scholarship focuses on the areas of water law, natural resources law, and property. Klein is a prolific author whose work has appeared in more than 30 peer-reviewed articles and three books. 

Brenda Dvoskin, Associate Professor

Professor Dvoskin writes and teaches at the intersection of sexuality and technology. Her current projects explore the concepts of safety, privacy, and consent in online sexual encounters. Her work has also focused on participatory structures in the context of online speech governance. 

Michelle Gross, Visiting Professor and Director, IP Law Clinic

Professor Gross is a visiting clinical professor and director of the Intellectual Property Clinic at WashU Law. She previously served as the founding faculty member of the Intellectual Property Clinic at Arizona State University, where she developed coursework related to patent law and trademark protection. 

James Hicks, Associate Professor

Professor Hicks is a legal scholar whose work focuses on intellectual property and innovation law. His current work draws on statistical methods to re-examine core tenets of intellectual property theory in order to better understand how and when IP rights incentivize the creation of new technological and creative works.
