WashU Law invites applications from qualified legal scholars and practitioners to teach three online courses in the coming year: Constitutional Law, AI Law, and International Business Transactions. These are adjunct teaching opportunities in WashU Law’s Online Education Program.
Open Courses
Constitutional Law (Spring 2027)
This 3-credit course is fully developed and ready to teach. The spring term begins January 25.
AI Law (Summer 2027)
This course needs to be developed from the ground up, which makes it a chance to design a new offering at the intersection of law and emerging technology. Along with standard teaching pay, the instructor will receive a $10,000 course-development stipend.
International Business Transactions (preferably Summer 2027)
This 3-credit course is fully developed and ready to teach.
What Teaching Involves
Each term runs 8 weeks of regular coursework, followed by two weeks of final exams. Instructors lead one live online class session each week, lasting 2 hours and 12 minutes. Outside of class, instructors communicate with students, review course materials, give feedback, and prepare and grade exams. WashU Law’s Distance Education team supports instructors throughout the term.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a JD (or the equivalent international credential) and have demonstrated expertise in the subject area they plan to teach.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should send a cover letter that names the course(s) they are applying for, along with a current resume, to Tim Beck (beckt@wustl.edu). Because Constitutional Law begins January 25, immediate applications are encouraged.
