The Hon. Sharon Johnson Coleman, who currently serves as a U.S. district judge for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, addressed our students at last week’s inspiring Convocation 2022. “You will be leaders in your communities. You will be the face of this profession,” she said. Judge Coleman, also a WashULaw alumna, graduated with a JD degree in 1984.
Prior to her current appointment, Judge Coleman served on the Illinois First District Appellate Court. She began her judicial career as a Cook County Circuit Court judge in 1996, where she held assignments in the Law Division and the Child Protection Division.
