WashU Law’s Admiralty Moot Court team earned top honors at the annual Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition in Charleston, South Carolina, taking first place overall against more than 30 law schools.
3Ls Chris Murphy, Perri Wilson, and Rob Smoot secured the championship with a strong final-round performance. Murphy was named Best Advocate in the Final Round and finished as the fourth-ranked advocate overall in the competition.
In addition to the team’s first-place finish, all six members—Murphy, Wilson, Smoot, 2L Noah Hills, 3L Beverly Lobo, and 2L Lucas Ebel—were recognized collectively as the fourth-ranked school for oral advocacy.
It is the third time since 2017 that WashU Law has captured the championship in the competition. The result marks another standout showing for WashU Law, highlighting the continued excellence of its moot court program a national stage.
