WAIC serves as a dynamic hub where interdisciplinary collaboration drives innovative research, informed policy discussions, and the development of practical solutions that shape the future of law and society.
Our Mission
WashU AI Collaborative focuses on the transformative impact of AI on legal practice, societal structures, and policy making. We are dedicated to promoting rigorous inquiry, creative problem-solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration to effectively research, educate, and foster discussions on the effects of AI in legal practice and society.
Our Core Activities
- Conducting research on AI policy and AI’s transformative effect on legal practice.
- Providing innovative education and training programs focused on AI literacy for law students and practicing legal professionals.
- Hosting Continuing Legal Education (CLE) events and other educational opportunities focused on AI and the law.
- Organizing events, conferences, and workshops to foster informed discussions on the intersection of AI, law, and policy among scholars, practitioners, and policymakers.
- Serving as a resource hub for research and insights into AI-related policy, legal innovations, and ethical considerations.
WashU Law AI Fellowship Program
The WashU Law AI Fellowship Program offers a unique opportunity for WashU Law students to engage directly with some of the most important and fast-moving issues in law and technology. Designed for students with a strong interest in artificial intelligence, legal innovation, and public impact, the Fellowship Program provides practical experience, mentorship, and leadership opportunities through the WashU Law AI Collaborative.
Fellows will contribute to real-world programming, cutting-edge research, and community-building efforts that advance WashU Law’s leadership in AI and legal education.
